Benchmarks for BrainMakerWhy speed is importantNeural networks can take a long time to train. When we first started shipping BrainMaker in 1987, it was not unusual for networks to train for several days on an IBM XT. Today, with BrainMaker v3.7 and an MMX enabled computer, these same networks train in several minutes. This speed increase means you can train dozens of networks in a single day, and choose the network with the best performance - much like choosing the job applicant with the best grades from the best school, instead of having to hire the first person who comes along. BrainMaker runs 10 to 100 times faster than our competition. This means you can train 10 to 100 times as many candidate networks from which to choose.
