Design note on our GS windshields: BMW has chosen to fold the stock windshield back at the lower
outside corners and attach these corners to the fairing. Most after market windshields for the GS series
follow this design. Our experience and opinion is that this results in the outside lower portion of the
shield acting like an upside-down wing, pulling air under and around the bottom of the windshield and
drawing it into your ribs and up your chest, reducing windshield effectiveness and increasing noise and
turbulence at your helmet. Our GS shields do not fold back and form these wings at the lower corners, and
therefore do not produce these effects.
Note: We ship outside the US by air mail, never by UPS. International delivery takes about 10 days. Shipping charge is US$30 to Canada, US$46 everywhere else.
I put the Calsci
screen on my 2004 GS 1150 and the thing is perfect. I put on about 400 miles since installing the
screen. And is very well made it hardly even moves at 100MPH. There is no buffeting at ALL at any speed.
Without ear plugs at 50-60 you can hear engine noise. I'm wearing an Arai Q helmet but always ride with ear
plugs. I was in some pretty strong cross winds and that did not affect the performance of this screen. At
70-80 MPH the wind noise is much better than before. There is also plenty of "free air."
